Our Heritage – The Beemsterboer Legacy

Holding Beemsterboer (HB) is a family-owned business founded in 1943 by Mr. J.P. Beemsterboer, who began with seed potato trading in the Netherlands. As demand for agricultural products and cold storage grew post-WWII, the business expanded its scope and infrastructure.
In 1963, BCS B.V. (Beemsterboer Cold store Services) was established with sites in Harderwijk and Amsterdam, boasting a 33,500-pallet capacity for conditioned storage. This solid foundation built on Dutch cold chain excellence laid the groundwork for global expansion.

BCS Kenya Ltd – Our Expansion Into Africa
In response to limited expansion opportunities in mature European markets, HB initiated a bold growth strategy targeting emerging markets. Kenya was identified as a prime location due to the increasing demand for reliable cold chain logistics.
BCS Kenya B.V. was incorporated in the Netherlands in December 2017, followed by the registration of BCS Kenya Ltd (BCSK) in February 2018. Key facts:
